Data Protection Compliance
It is critical to have a data protection policy in place with appropriate security measures, both
internally and externally, to ensure access to data is appropriate.
Although the ePrivacy Directive introduced fines of up to €250,000 or 10% of turnover, the primary cost of
failing to comply is reputational. The Credit Union business model is based on trust, and a good
reputation is one of your credit union’s greatest assets.
What we can do
Our team will assist with developing policies and staff training to ensure compliance with the
Data
Protection Acts and codes of conduct through an assessment of your Data Protection policy for
conformance with the Data Protection Acts.
Specific focus is placed on having appropriate security measures for the storage and transfer of data
(internal and external data flow) and an appropriate access right model and audit trail to protect
confidential data.
